A PRACTICAL, HANDS ON APPROACH TO PROBLEM SOLVING AND TRAINING!
Managing Director and Inventor, Stephen Weston, has spent his working life in analytical and problem solving roles and uses the knowledge gained from practical experience in laboratory analysis, Research and Development, Papermaking and converting, to bring a broad and unique insight into problem investigation and resolution.
 PROBLEM ASSESSMENT
In converting plants, (amongst many projects), Stephen Weston has carried out studies and designed slitting systems for Arjo Wiggins Paper, troubleshot slitting problems for companies such as Alcan Packaging and Arjo Wiggins Paper and presented talks to the UK Paper Industry Technical Association on both Safety and Manual Handling and Slitting Techniques. He also designed and patented the innovative, shaft-less ‘Weston Reelstand”, which is in use in several Paper mills and converting plants, and has two further inventions; a "Pregnancy Seatbelt Harness" and a "Safety Closure Device" for supermarket distribution cages.
 EXPERT ANALYSIS
Prior to that Stephen Weston has:
Developed a method of repairing paper machine rubber blankets (Clupak™), which he took worldwide, including emergency repairs and extensive operator training on one of the largest Clupak™ paper machines in the world, located in the remote Tsunami hit Aceh province of Indonesia.
Transferred the above repair method to the in-situ repair of high value paper machine suction press rolls using the original compound.
He has designed reel and shaft handling systems for among others, Arjo Wiggins, British Polythene Industries (BPI), Alcan Packaging, De La Rue International, Printpack, SCA, Tullis Russell and many more smaller companies, from as far as Canada, the USA, Central America & New Zealand.
Recently developed a number of new safety and handling products that have been successfully installed.
In October 2006 Stephen Weston received a British government Department of Trade (DTI) research award to develop another new product, this time, a safety device for the supermarket industry.
If you have a handling or production problem, rather than just going out to a number of suppliers who will quote you for their own solutions, why not first ask The Reel and Shaft Handling Company to carry out an impartial analysis of the problem, using our practical knowledge of the industry and combining it with your requirements and budget. We will produce a report and a specification that you can then take anywhere for a quotation, knowing that the solution is what you need, what your operators' want and what you can afford!
