MAY 2010: MANAGING DIRECTOR'S INVENTION IS 'DISCOVERED' BY TELEVISION CREW!

As Stephen Weston began crash testing of his Pregnancy Seatbelt Harness invention at Bolton University, he was visited by a film crew from "The Discovery Channel" programme, "Daily Planet". The producers wanted to witness first hand the initial testing of the invention, which could save 000's of lives of unborn babies, when their mother's are involved in even low speed crashes!

The producers, based in Canada, first contacted Stephen in November of last year, but with attending the ICE 2009 exhibition in Munich, it would not fit into the film crew's schedule. However when they heard that the crash tests were due to commence in May, complete with newly patented, "Willans" compact buckle fitted, they immediately arranged to take a full days filming of the crash tests at Bolton University and filming at The Reel and Shaft Handling Company's works, in Bury.

JANUARY 2010:

ALL AT The RaSHCo WISH ALL OUR CUSTOMERS, SUPPLIERS AND FRIENDS, A HAPPY, HEALTHY & PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR!

Also, we wish to introduce you to our latest employee, Mr Frosty, The Salesman. The post is a temporary one, in which Mr. Frosty will be promoting RaSHCo's new range of "LV" Reel Handling Trolleys. Mr Frosty was happy to prove himself up to the challenge and immediately started to familiarise himself with the new "LV" EM1000 model, which can lift and cradle reels up to 1000Kg x 1000mm diameter, from pallet height.

The "LV" represents a new thinking in Reel Handling trolleys with the reel cradle rotating from the "L" position for loading/unloading, to the "V" position for transporting the reel, which means reels of all diameters are cradled safely.

RaSHCo's Managing Director commented, "We are happy to welcome Mr. Frosty. He is a chilled out guy, with a universal appeal and like our new range of "LV" Reel Handling trolleys, (Which were appropriately first shown at ICE 2009, last November) and our "Reel Turner Mk3" Reel Turning trolleys, he is new, cool and brings pleasure to everyone that knows him!"

For more information on the new "LV" & "Reel Turner Mk3" ranges of Reel Handling trolleys, please e-mail Mr Frosty at:

PRESS RELEASE – PR004

February 2006

This makes a total four reel and shaft handling equipment supplier contracts RSHC has won since starting up in business in 2005. Other companies under the RSHC banner include RAMA, Movomech and Genkinger.

According to managing director Steve Weston, this means that his company has one of the most extensive range of reel and shaft handling equipment available to industry, in particular to paper industry and the packaging industry.

“I know ‘one-stop shop’ is a bit of a cliché,” he says, ‘But we now have every niche reel, roll and shaft application covered for packaging and paper industry customers.”

15 November 2006

Reel & Shaft Handling Company Launches Range Of Versatile Reel Trucks The Reel & Shaft Handling Co. announces two important additions to its range of reel and shaft handling equipment for the paper, film, converting & printing industries.

The first addition is the UK agency for RAMA Agility trolleys of Italy. RAMA trolleys are designed to transport reels of material up to 1.5 Tonne in weight. The Agility trolleys are designed to give excellent manoeuvrability in tight areas, with models fitted with powered traction and lift being ideal for transporting reels long distances in areas such as warehouses.

The second addition to the company’s handling portfolio is the addition of the narrow aisle ‘Pan Truck’. Managing Director, Stephen Weston explains, “The Pan Truck has been used in the textile industries for years, with great success, but until now its potential in the converting industries has not been seen. All we are doing really is transferring technology across industries”.

He continues, “The ‘Pan Truck’ has the ability to drive sideways into reels on the floor, lift them on top of the truck and then drive lengthways down narrow aisles to deposit the reel at floor level elsewhere. It really can drive, stop and then drive at 90 degrees to itself. Making it ideal for transporting large reels to or from converting equipment. Directional control of all four wheels is via the tiller at the end of the truck, from which the operator controls all the functions.” Pan Trucks’ have a capacity of up to 2 Tonnes.

Stephen Weston believes that the addition of the RAMA Agility Trolley range and the new ‘Pan Truck’ range to The Reel and Shaft Handling Company’s unique and patent applied for handling equipment, gives the company an important boost in the larger reel handling markets.
